Spice Girls fans have something to celebrate as the chart-topping girl group has officially regained ownership of their cult classic movie Spice World and a brand-new version is on the way.
Melanie C revealed the 1997 musical comedy has finally returned to the band's hands after years of complicated ownership issues.
The 52-year-old singer explained that the film has disappeared from streaming platforms because the rights had been split between several owners, making it difficult to bring back.
Now, with the Spice Girls fully in charge, the movie is being re-edited before it returns for fans to enjoy once again.
One of the biggest changes is the removal of disgraced former entertainer Garry Glitter, who made a brief cameo in the original film.
Melanie admitted the decision was an obvious one during the editing process, saying there was no question that his appearance had to be cut.
I Turn to You singer also shared that much of Spice World was inspired by the band's real-life experiences at the height of Spice Mania.
Having spent a year travelling the world promoting their music before filming began, many of the movie's funniest and most chaotic moments reflected what the five stars were actually living through behind the scenes.
The announcement comes as the Spice Girls celebrate the 30th anniversary of their smash-hit debut single Wannabe.
While fans hoping for a reunion tour may be disappointed, Melanie insisted the group is discussing plenty of exciting projects to mark the milestone.
She also shut down suggestions that anyone has left the legendary band, insisting all five members, including Victoria Beckham, remain part of the Spice Girls family.
