Taylor Swift fan ‘Swiftologist’ faces massive backlash over ‘filler’ remark

Taylor Swift’s universal fame and popularity has resulted in the popstar accumulating many fans over the span of her career, one of which is a commentator that goes by the name Swiftologist.

The 28-year-old Singapore-based YouTuber, whose real name is Zachary Hourihane, has gained popularity through critique and also has a podcast called Evolution Of A Snake with fellow pop culture content creator Madeline Rubicam.

After one of the Swiftologist’s live shows, a supporter of the podcast made a video claiming that they were done with the pair because they were “allowing fans to say horrible things in the audience.”

The social media user, who goes by the username ‘bravo.swift’ noted that their breaking point came when one member started talking about Taylor’s physical appearance.

“Madeline and Zach did not stop it, they were like ‘Well we’re not gonna like talk about that’ but excuse me? So they [audience member] were mentioning, ‘Oh what turned me off from Life of a Showgirl was her filler,” they added.

Taylor’s supporters flooded social media platforms like X to criticise Zach writing, “swiftologist being the face of swifties to outsiders pmo so bad. this man only cares about whether she serves and slays, and if she doesn't, he'll resort to mocking her appearance…”

Another remarked, “people be evil as f**k towards taylor and call it ‘criticism’ and then be mad when swifties retaliate. its never criticism its just straight up hate and misogyny.”
