Billie Eilish has shared a rare insight into the challenges she deals with during interviews and appearances.
The 24-year-old singer recently opened up about the effort it takes to keep her tics under control in interviews and on camera.
In an interview with Amy Poehler on the Good Hang podcast, she said, "I go through phases of words becoming tics, but there's this thing called suppressing."
She continued, "If you've ever heard of it. And when I'm in an interview I'm doing everything in my power to suppress all of my tics constantly and as soon as I leave the room I have to let them all out with whatever."
She also addressed misunderstandings around the condition, saying people often misread visible reactions.
"I think what's troubling about who do not understand what Tourette's is, if I start having a tic attack people are like 'are you okay?'. 'But it's like this is very much normal…"
Moreover, she explained about how the condition affects her physically during conversations, adding that many of her tics remain invisible but constant throughout the day.
For the unversed, the bad guy hitmaker, who was diagnosed at age eleven, has spoken about Tourette’s before, including in her 2022 appearance on David Letterman’s Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, where she said discussing it helped her feel more understood.
