Sophie Ellis-Bextor has offered a candid insight into her marriage with husband Richard Jones, revealing that the long-time couple do not always share the same taste in music.
The singer admitted that Jones, bassist for the band, The Feeling, is not especially keen on her song Feeling, despite the track's popularity with fans.
Speaking about their relationship, Ellis-Bextor said that differing opinions have never been a problem and can even be healthy in a long-term partnership.
The couple first met in 2002 when Ellis-Bextor collaborated with The Feeling on tour and married in 2005.
Moreover, they are now parents to five sons and have become one of British pop's longest-lasting couples.
Reflecting on their relationship, Ellis-Bextor said a successful marriage is not about being identical or agreeing on everything, as per Daily Mail.
Instead, she believes it requires effort, communication and a willingness to keep investing in one another over time.
She added that relationships naturally go through different phases and that staying connected is something couples must actively work at.
The Murder on the Dancefloor singer has enjoyed a major career resurgence in recent years after the song featured prominently in the film Saltburn.
While her professional life has reached new heights, Ellis-Bextor said having a supportive partner and strong family life remains the foundation that keeps everything balanced.
