Jennifer Morrison has reflected on the challenges of filming The Five-Star Weekend on Nantucket, saying the picturesque Massachusetts island was just as important to the story as its characters.

Morrison, who directed four of the Peacock drama's eight episodes, said capturing the authentic atmosphere of Nantucket was a priority because the setting plays a central role in Elin Hilderbrand's bestselling 2023 novel, on which the series is based.

She described the island as "a character" in its own right, with its beaches, gardens and distinctive charm shaping the emotional tone of the story.

The production spent about a month filming on Nantucket, a rare feat for a television series.

According to People, Morrison explained that while the location delivered stunning visuals, it also presented significant logistical hurdles.

Shooting on sandy beaches, coordinating ferry scenes around changing light and transporting equipment across the island required extensive planning from the cast and crew.

Despite the demanding schedule, Morrison said the extended stay helped create a close-knit atmosphere among the team, comparing the experience to a summer camp.

Moreover, she added that living and working together strengthened the collaboration and translated into the chemistry seen on screen.

The Five-Star Weekend stars Jennifer Garner as celebrity chef Hollis Shaw, who invites friends from different stages of her life to a weekend retreat in Nantucket following a personal tragedy.

The ensemble cast also includes Chloë Sevigny, Regina Hall, Gemma Chan and D'Arcy Carden.
