Stefon Diggs’ trial over the assault allegations made by his personal chef has come to an end after brief jury deliberations.

As per a police report filed on December 16, Jamila “Mila” Adams, accused the professional athlete of striking her and placing his hands around her neck after an argument at his Dedham home, and although the cook initially declined to press charges she did so later in the month.

The jury has now decided that National Football League player is not guilty in a Massachusetts courtroom, and the rejected the felony strangulation and assault allegations that plagued the defendant and acquitted him on all counts after less than two hours of deliberation.

After the verdict, Diggs’ attorney Mitchell Shuster stated “Domestic violence is a very, very serious issue in this country and it’s disconcerting when people use it as a sword and manufacture claims in an attempt to extract money.”

“I believe the jury saw through that today and we are very, very pleased with this result. This has impacted him both personally and professionally. … He’s a human being,” the lawyer added.

Notably, the New England Patriots receiver was released from the in March as the case unraveld and has yet to be signed with another team.
