Billie Eilish is getting candid about her first and only media training experience, as well as revealing why she gave up on it.
The Bad Guy singer reflected on how her public persona has undergone changes throughout the years, and the way her first media training class at 14 ended up going wrong.
In the May 5 episode of Good Hang with Amy Poehler, the musician stated “I did PR training when I was 14 and I sobbed through it. I hated it so much. It was literally like the scariest s*** of all time, I only did one session and it was under an hour, and I sobbed and I left.”
Billie went on to say that the way it happens is that the person gets prompted with a question like they would in an interview and then they have to attempt to give the PR-trained answer, which she attempted but was swiftly interrupted and corrected.
"It was important for me to learn and I'm glad I learned it," the Grammy winner added, comparing the experience to learning to drive safely in the sense that then you can bend the rules and know what is safe and use it to your advantage.
Amy agreed with Billie and noted that it could help a person figure out the boundaries, and that authenticity is important, with the latter saying that she has now toned things down and stopped oversharing in interviews.
