Teen pop newcomer Freya Skye has lifted the lid on her whirlwind rise.

The 16-year-old star admitted that she’s battled “impostor syndrome” while rubbing shoulders with music’s biggest names.

She found herself sharing the stage with heavyweights like Ed Sheeran, Zara Larsson and Olivia Dean during the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour and confessed it initially left her feeling out of place.

“I felt a lot of impostor syndrome,” she revealed, admitting she was overwhelmed by the A-list company she once only dreamed of.

But the nerves didn’t last long as the moment Freya stepped into the spotlight, everything changed.

As she launched into her first chorus, the crowd stunned her by singing along, despite her track being just days old.

“I was like, ‘The song’s been out for three days!’” she laughed, clearly still in disbelief.

Her single Silent Treatment has since propelled her onto the Billboard Hot 100, a milestone she describes as surreal.

Waking up to the news, the songstress couldn’t quite process that her name now sits alongside artists she grew up listening to with her family.

Still, the rising star isn’t resting on her laurels.

In fact, she’s embracing the challenge of winning over new listeners, even those who don’t recognise her name yet.

“It excites me when people say, ‘Who is she?’” she admitted.

“There’s so many more people I can reach.”

Freya also credits her inspiration to chart-toppers like Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo, proving she’s both a fan and fierce new contender in pop’s next generation.
