Don Mancini is bringing Chucky back to the big screen in a fresh horror outing, teasing fans that the infamous killer doll is far from finished.
The writer, who launched the franchise with 1988’s Child’s Play, confirmed he is currently penning a brand-new film after nearly two decades away from cinemas for the character.
Speaking at Steel City Con, Mancini revealed he is developing more projects in the Chucky universe.
his will include a potential new TV series alongside actress Jennifer Tilly, who plays Tiffany, the doll’s deadly partner in crime.
He teased a separate non-Chucky horror film, describing it as a haunted house story, suggesting he is expanding his spooky creative slate beyond the iconic killer doll.
According to reports, Mancini is set to direct the new film himself, aiming for a return to the darker, scarier tone of the original movies.
The project is expected to head back to cinemas, marking Chucky’s first big-screen appearance in over 20 years, after later installments were released straight to video.
While plot details remain tightly under wraps, excitement is already building among fans.
The announcement comes after the Chucky TV series was cancelled by Syfy, sparking a wave of support online with the #RenewChucky campaign trending as viewers begged for more of the murderous duo.
Franchise creator Mancini later thanked supporters, writing that Chucky “will be back soon”, reassuring audiences that the story is not over.
Actress Tilly has also hinted that Tiffany will return, teasing fans that the “gruesome twosome” still have unfinished business on screen.
Mancini, who has written every entry in the series since its debut, is once again steering the future of the horror icon.
