Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared details about his upcoming highly anticipated film Avengers: Doomsday and its sequel, Secret Wars.
MCU is gearing up for one of the biggest cinematic event by the end of the year, but there is more to it.
During an interview with Fandango, Feige opened up about the next two Avengers films.
He revealed that while both the upcoming films relate with Infinity War and Endgame, they are still very different.
The Marvel boss acknowledged that a lot of fans probably think that the Doomsday and Secret Wars movies will have a "similar connection" to each other in the way that Infinity War and Endgame did, but that is not the case.
"While one certainly does lead into the other, it's in a very different way," he admitted. Feige also teased that Avengers: Secret Wars is "as ambitious a project as we've ever embarked on."
Previously, Infinity War and Endgame, were two parts of the same story, in which Thanos wipes out half of all humanity after collecting the Infinity Stones, acting as the cliff hanger that split up the two instalments.
Initially both the films were called Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 and Part 2 before Marvel renamed the latter to Endgame.
After those two films forever changed the franchise, the upcoming films will seemingly again change the course of story.
In the highly anticipated film, coming later this year will see Avengers team-up. Several familiar faces will appear in the movie, including Robert Downey Jr., as villain Doctor Doom.
Avengers: Secret Wars will be released a year later to close out not just Phase Six but also the Multiverse Saga as a whole.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, meanwhile, Secret War on December 17, 2027.
