Jennie Garth has opened up about her deep fear of dying, admitting it’s pushed her to take drastic steps to protect her health after a string of devastating losses.
The 54-year-old former Beverly Hills, 90210 star revealed she is now focused on giving her body the “best possible care” as she grapples with anxiety about her own mortality.
Speaking candidly on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, Jennie confessed she is “so scared” of dying, especially after losing loved ones unexpectedly.
Her worries have even shaped her diet as What I Like About You actress has followed a vegan lifestyle on and off for years, partly driven by concerns about illness.
She also shared that her uneasy relationship with meat began in childhood, growing up on a farm in Illinois where she witnessed animals being slaughtered for food.
“I never loved that,” she admitted, recalling how she later rebelled by bingeing on junk food like cereal and fast food once she left home.
But those carefree days are long gone and now a mother-of-three, Jennie says her priorities have shifted dramatically.
After experiencing repeated grief, including the heartbreaking death of her former co-star Shannen Doherty in 2024, she’s determined to stay as healthy as possible.
“When you have sudden loss around you… it really makes you think, ‘Whoa, priorities,’” she said.
