Prince Harry took the stage at the Project Healthy Minds World Mental Health Day Festival this week to introduce a panel about young people and the digital age.
And while all eyes were on him, it was Meghan Markle’s quiet gesture from the audience that left a lasting impression.
As Harry finished his introduction and took his seat, attendees noticed Meghan sitting in the front row, right beside the mother of one of the young panelists.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, listened intently as the discussion turned deeply personal.
One of the speakers, a young girl, shared her story about falling into harmful content loops on TikTok during the pandemic.
She described how, as a fifth grader, she used the app to stay in touch with friends, but soon began seeing videos promoting restrictive eating habits.
Over time, she said, she started to internalize those messages, believing that limiting her food intake was somehow a good idea, until her health declined so severely that she was hospitalized.
As the young girl spoke, Meghan nodded gently, visibly moved by her courage.
The small but powerful gesture didn’t go unnoticed by those nearby, a subtle expression of empathy and solidarity.
