Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given a rare glimpse into family life with their two children, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up about their kids while accepting the Humanitarians of the Year Award at the Project Healthy Minds Gala in New York City this week.
Taking the stage together, Meghan reflected on how their parenting experience fuels their mission to create a safer digital world for children.
“Our children, Archie and Lilibet, are just six and four years old. Can you believe it?” she said with a smile, before pausing.
“Luckily, they’re still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming. Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits while safeguarding against its dangers.”
The duchess warned that separating kids from the harms of the internet is “rapidly becoming impossible.”
Harry then spoke about the couple’s ongoing work through their Archewell Foundation, including The Parents’ Network, an initiative created in partnership with the nonprofit ParentsTogether to advocate for families affected by online harms.
“We knew this movement needed to grow,” Harry said. “These families are not only up against corporations and lobbyists… but also algorithms designed to maximize data collection at any cost.”
