Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel have made headlines one after the another over surprise cancellations of their late night shows, which has effectively bought them closer.
Although the 57-year-old’s removal from his show was temporary, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert is scheduled to temporarily go off air next year.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host appeared at the 61-year-old comedian’s show as a guest, and recalled the story of him being told that his show was being indefinitely pulled when he was in the bathroom.
“’I’m never coming back on the air.’ That’s really what I thought,” Kimmel candidly stated about what he thought would be his future on his eponymous show.
The former co-host of The Man Show also said that him and Colbert should stick together, calling all of it an emotional rollercoaster.
At one point, the author even asked the radio alum how it felt to have Donald Trump celebrating his unemployment.
“That son of a b*tch… I never even imagined there would ever be a situation in which the President of our country was celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs, somebody who took pleasure in that. That, to me, is the absolute opposite of what a leader of this country is supposed to be,” Kimmel added.
Notably, The Serious Goose author and the United States President have taken multiple digs at each other over the years.
Kimmel was suspended for his remarks about Charlie Kirk’s shooter, with the higher ups deeming them insensitive at the time.
