October is bringing must-watch streaming shows, from gripping dramas to laugh-out-loud comedies; there’s something for every binge-watcher this month.

Whether you’re scrolling Netflix, Paramount+, or Apple TV+, these five shows are guaranteed to keep you hooked, episode after episode.

Don’t miss out on the hottest streaming picks of October 2025!

1. Monster: The Ed Gein Story

The third installment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Monsters franchise explores Ed Gein, the Wisconsin serial killer who inspired Norman Bates in Psycho.

Charlie Hunnam lost nearly 30 lbs to portray Gein, with Laurie Metcalf as his mother and Tom Hollander as Hitchcock.

Hunnam looks truly terrifying in Monster: The Ed Gein Story, which premieres October 3 on Netflix worldwide.

2. One Day in October and Red Alert

One Day in October (HBO Max) follows seven intertwined stories of victims and families in real time, while Red Alert (Paramount+) tells the tale of five strangers brought together during the attacks, filmed in Israel.

Both series aim for sensitivity and accuracy but raise questions about how soon real-life terror should be dramatized.

One Day in October premieres October 7 in the US, and Red Alert premieres internationally on Paramount+.

3. The Last Frontier

In the action-packed drama The Last Frontier, Jason Clarke stars as US Marshal Frank Remnick, tasked with tracking 50 convicts who escape after a plane crash in remote Alaska.

As he investigates, Remnick suspects the crash was deliberate and uncovers CIA involvement. The cast also includes Haley Bennett, Dominic Cooper, Alfre Woodard, and Simone Kessell.

Described as Con Air meets The Fugitive, the series combines intense manhunts with dramatic Alaskan scenery.

The Last Frontier premieres October 10 on Apple TV+ internationally.

4. The Chair Company

Tim Robinson stars as Ron Trosper, a placid family man and office worker who uncovers a massive criminal conspiracy in The Chair Company.

Balancing offbeat humor with wacky comic situations, Ron struggles to get anyone to believe him. Lake Bell co-stars as his wife, Barb, and Lou Diamond Phillips plays a company executive.

Created by Robinson and Zach Kanin of I Think You Should Leave, the series premieres October 12 on HBO and HBO Max in the US.

5. Mr Scorsese

Martin Scorsese’s life and career are explored in the five-part documentary Mr Scorsese, directed by Rebecca Miller.

With exclusive access to his private archives, Miller interviews Scorsese and key collaborators, including Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, and editor Thelma Schoonmaker.

The series also features insights from contemporaries like Steven Spielberg. A must-watch for film lovers, Mr Scorsese premieres October 17 on Apple TV+ internationally.
