James Gunn sent fans into a frenzy after releasing major news about his first solo Batman project.

In conversation with Josh Horowitz on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, the 59-year-old seemingly gave away a later release window for Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

When asked by Josh if both Batman movies ( Batman II and his solo film) will be released in the same year, James responded, “Probably not, probably not the same calendar year, no.”

Previously, he debunked the rumour by a fan thread asking if the film would be released in 2030 or 2031, the director simply said, “No.”

Netizens speculate the release window is somewhere between 2028 and 2029, since Robert Pattinson-led Batman II will premiere in 2027.

Notably, The Brave and the Bold was the third film announced at James’ Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters slate after Superman and Supergirl.

The DC’s first solo Batman movie under the new co-CEOs will be directed by Andy Muschietti, who previously made The Flash.

The story will introduce the Bat family, Bruce Wayne and his son, Damian, and will explore thier relationship for the first time on the big screen.

As of now, no further details about the cast and plot have been revealed.

Is Robert Pattinson returning in ‘Batman II’?

Yes, Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as the cape crusader in the second installment of the superhero action film.
