Stranger Things became one of the most watched series with its intriguing story line, breaking records with five seasons.
The show was a fan-favourite for over a decade before the last instalment faced severe scrutiny for plot holes and controversial ending.
The finale was called out for destroying the story that revolved around children who get embroiled in a top-secret government.
It was announced that the series was able to score seven Emmy nominations in various categories.
These include: "Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, Outstanding Special Visuals, Outstanding Sound Mixing, Outstanding Sound Editing, Outstanding Production Design, Outstanding Music Supervision, and Outstanding Stunt Coordination."
However, the fans instantly pointed out that Stranger Things missed out a nomination on writing as one netizen penned down: “Nothing with the script you see.”
Meanwhile, an admirer jumped in to defend the creators, noting: “Chill only Season 5 is bad overall the show is amazing.”
After the finale premiered, another controversy surfaced about Ross Duffer’s wife Leigh Janiak helping the brothers write the first four seasons.
On the other hand, the creator could not get her help as they reportedly split ways and were navigating their divorce.
Despite the backlash, it became the most-viewed series on the streaming giant as it garnered over 1.2 billion views.
