Stephen Colbert is having fun poking fun at President Donald Trump’s visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The 61-year-old host has been in character as an ‘Escalator investigator’ for two days in a row after Trump’s complaining about the building’s escalator made headlines.

Colbert added the moment in his monologue, “Ever since Trump got back into office, he’s been waging a campaign of vengeance against his enemies. “Now, he’s focused all of his rage on the one foe who refused to take him up, and that is the U.N. escalator.”

He loved the footage of the moment so much that he vowed to show it until May 2026, the month when his show comes to an end.

The comedian said, “I’m so glad neither of those two people was injured, because I will enjoy showing that footage every night until May.”

Notably, on September 23, the 80th session of the UN assembly took place with over 87 heads of state present in the hall.

The President of the United States suffered a setback while walking up the escalator, which was accidentally stopped by a member of his entourage.

Trump demanded an investigation and an immediate arrest, which netizens made jokes about online.

For the unversed, Colbert’s late-night show was cancelled due to an M&A deal between Paramount Global and Skydance Media, citing financial strain due to the show.

However, journalists argued the higher-ups decided to appease Trump, who will oversee the FCC review of the merger. The alleged claims came after Colbert made fun of Paramount settling a $16 million lawsuit with the President.
