Princess Diana once asked to secretly “smuggle” tabloids into Kensington Palace, according to her longtime stylist Richard Dalton.

Dalton, who worked with Diana from 1981 to 1990, revealed that the late Princess of Wales often relied on him to sneak newspapers past royal security.

Speaking to People, he recalled: “She used to say, ‘Richard, can you bring them in for me?’ Once I’d got through security and into the pantry, it was all plain sailing from there.”

While adored by the public, she was often the subject of relentless tabloid scrutiny.

One rumour that caused her the most distress, Dalton said, questioned whether King Charles was truly the father of Prince Harry.

“They always went on about, ‘Is Charles the father of Harry?’ Of course he is,” Dalton insisted.

He explained that Harry inherited his red hair from Diana’s side of the family, noting that both her brother Charles Spencer and sister Lady Sarah had striking red locks.
