King Charles is “very concerned” about the impact social media has on young minds.
The British monarch discussed his fears while speaking to Rev Tommy MacNeil, who runs the Shed Project, a charity focused on mental health on the Scottish island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
The 76-year-old talked about the “negative influences” found online on social platforms.
The discussion took place after the Church of Scotland minister gave a sermon to the king and his wife Queen Camilla at Balmoral Castle on Sunday.
“We spoke for 40 minutes and the King was clearly well briefed about the Shed and what we are doing.”, the minister told the Daily Telegraph.
“He was very concerned about the negative impact social media was having on young people in so many ways.”
The minister also said the king understood the problems and the difficulties involved in combating them.
He added that the King was “very engaged and 100 per cent appreciative of the work” they were doing.
Previously, King’s sons William and Harry have also spoken about the cons of social media and how they influence kids.
The issue is rising and needs to be dealt with swiftly as Netflix’s Emmy-winning show Adolescence was highly praised for addressing the topic specially aming young boys.
