British actor Gary Oldman has now been honoured with a major title which many strive to achieve.

Gary Oldman, who starred in the iconic Harry Potter movies as Sirius Black, also won an Oscar in Darkest Hour for the portryal of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Now, the actor has recieved a knighthood at the age of 67.

The London-born star was named in the King’s Birthday Honours, along with others who made remarkable contribution to the industry.

Sir Gary Oldman received the knighthood at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, September 30 from the future king, Prince William.

His recent acting credits include the role of MI5 agent Jackson Lamb in Apple TV’s Slow Horses, based on Mick Herron’s popular book series.

The Harry Potter star was named on the same list as former English captain David Beckham.

The knighthood or the Knight Bachelor is granted to man who has been knighted by the monarch in the British rankings.

In the past, many other British entertainers have been honoured with the title for their contributions to the drama, theatre and music.
