Prince Harry has reportedly registered his son, Prince Archie, at Eton College, the same prestigious school he and Prince William once attended.
The move comes as a bombshell decision given that Archie, six, currently lives in California with his parents.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, has often shared his mixed memories of Eton, but one of his former school friends told The Royalist that Harry still believes the school is the “only sensible choice” if Archie is to be educated in the UK.
“It’s no longer strictly necessary to put your kids’ names down at birth, but Harry has put Archie down,” the friend revealed. “Looking back, he can appreciate the good.”
The insider also noted that Eton’s heavy security presence makes it far safer than American schools.
“Statistically, you have to imagine Eton would be a hell of a lot safer than an American school thanks to their gun laws,” they said.
Harry has recently hinted that he is open to bringing Archie and Princess Lilibet to Britain more often. Speaking earlier this month, he admitted: “This week has definitely brought that closer.”
