Eugene Levy has set the record straight about his headline-making encounter with Prince William.
The Schitt’s Creek star, 78, met the Prince of Wales while filming an episode of his Apple TV+ comedy series The Reluctant Traveler in London, where William surprised him with a private tour of Windsor Castle.
In the show’s trailer, William quipped about the pair “getting drunk,” which immediately sent royal fans into a frenzy.
But speaking on TODAY with Jenna & Friends, Levy admitted the line was just a playful joke that revealed the future king’s sharp sense of humour.
“It gives you some idea of what a great sense of humour he has,” Levy said. “He was an amazing guy to hang with.”
The Canadian actor confessed he had no idea William would be his tour guide, calling the surprise “incredible.”
He also joked about not knowing the proper royal etiquette: “I knew it wasn’t going to be Billy, or Bill, or even Willie.”
In a separate chat with USA Today, Levy praised the prince as “down to earth, smart, and just a terrific gentleman.”
William even admitted he knew Levy from American Pie, cementing their unlikely connection.
