King Charles misses Prince Harry and 'desperately' wants to heal rift

King Charles is said to be longing for a closer relationship with his youngest son, Prince Harry. 

The monarch, 76, reportedly wants to “re-embrace” the Duke of Sussex after years of tension following Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step down from royal duties in 2020.

Royal author Tina Brown, a friend of the late Princess Diana, said the encounter was driven by the King’s “paternal longing.” 

Writing in The New York Times, Brown explained: “It’s no secret that Charles desperately misses his prodigal son… in these times of ugly political discord, a fractured royal family is a bad look.”

Insiders believe this reunion could mark the start of more frequent meetings between father and son. 

According to reports, courtiers are even exploring ways for Charles and Harry to make a joint public appearance within the next year.

Earlier this month, Charles and Harry met privately at Clarence House in London, which was their first face-to-face reunion in over a year.
