A palace insider has pushed back against claims of a rift between King Charles and Prince William after speculation emerged following Prince Harry’s brief trip to the UK.
According to the Daily Mail, some fear “Team Harry” is trying to exploit the Duke of Sussex’s recent meeting with his father to drive a wedge between the monarch and his heir. But insiders insist that suggestion is far from reality.
“These syrupy briefings from supposed Sussex sources are precisely why the King and Royal Family are cautious about reconciliation,” one source told the outlet. “If the intention is to rebuild trust, these stories do the opposite.
Last week’s state visit showed that the strength of the monarchy lies in the unshakeable bond between the King and the Prince of Wales, supported by working royals.”
Reports in the Mail on Sunday claimed “high-level talks” were underway to reunite Charles and Harry in a public appearance for the first time in years.
