Prince Harry is said to have extended an “olive branch” to King Charles during Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK last week.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, had travelled to London earlier in September for a four-day solo trip, during which he met privately with his father.
Just days after Harry returned to California, the US President and First Lady Melania Trump arrived in Windsor for a high-profile two-day stay.
According to insiders, Harry assured the King that he would maintain a “low profile” while the Trumps were in town, a gesture described as one of “goodwill” as Charles continues cancer treatment.
Sources close to Harry were quoted, saying he is keen to see more of his father and “make him proud,” but firmly deny speculation of any return to royal duties.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Harry’s visit to the UK was not about trying to show up or compete with his brother – in fact, the opposite. It was to remind William that Harry can help take some of the load off.”
