Kelly Ripa, talk show queen of morning television, recently faced a messy mishap that left viewers in stitches on live TV.
The 54-year-old actress, who fronts the hit morning show Live with Kelly and Mark alongside her husband, Mark Consuelos, was joined by US vet Dr Will Draper for a segment called Raise the Woof.
While the expert explained the benefits of socialising dogs, one pooch made itself a little too comfortable.
Notably, it plonked itself down and squatted in the middle of the studio set.
Gasps filled the studio as the cheeky pup did its business on the fake grass right between Ripa, Consuelos and Draper.
Notably, the Generation Gap actress couldn’t control her laughter. “Good dog, good dog,” she teased, before pointing out the mess: “It’s right behind you, Dr Will.”
The hosts also failed to hide their amusement as the smell hit them.
“Wow, that’s pungent,” she exclaimed, while Draper nervously suggested swapping seats.
Meanwhile, the 54-year-old actor swiftly moved the chat along to gourmet dog food, prompting Draper to quip: “That dog has had some fancy food – that’s really good stool.”
The on-air blunder worked in the show’s favour, highlighting how live TV thrives on the unexpected.
