Jenny Han, the writer and showrunner of The Summer I Turned Pretty, could finally have a peaceful sleep as the show was released on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the showrunner said that she couldn’t get a peaceful sleep, despite being on vacation, as she was worried about the fans’ reaction.
Now that the finale is out and she has learned how fans have accepted which brother the protagonist ends up with, Jenny can sleep peacefully.
But that’s not it! Speaking to THR, the author shared that she has been working on a couple of new books that are “such a different head space” for her.
When asked if there’s a chance for her to revisit this series again down the line, which she has once implied, Jenny responded:
“Yeah, if it excites me,” she said about a possible spin-off of the series. “I love the world. I love the cast and the people I work with, so it’s really all a matter of the right story and putting that story first.”
