From Owen Cooper to Tillman: Top 5 Celebs who made 2025 Emmy history

The 77th Emmy Awards gave the audience some of the most historic triumphs of all time.

The celebrities? Gold for Hollywood’s primetime dramas and comedies, including Adolescence’s Owen Cooper, Severance’s Tramell Tillman, and The Studio's Seth Rogen.

The list is endless for the undeniably groundbreaking performers, but here we have combined the top five celebrities who will always be remembered for the 2025 Emmys.

Owen Cooper (Adolescence)

Cooper, who became the youngest-ever male Emmy winner, had the most striking win for his role in Adolescence.

At just 15, he will be remembered as the youngest performer to win the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

In his acceptance speech, Cooper said, "Tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life… Who cares if you get embarrassed? Anything can be possible."

Tramell Tillman (Severance)

Severance’s Tillman made history as the first Black man to win in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.

Fans were fond of the 40-year-old’s performance in the most Emmy-nominated series. As Tillman accepted his trophy, he extended his thanks to his mom in the audience.

"Mama, you were there for me when no one else was and no one else would show up," he said. "Your loving kindness stays with me, and this is for you."

Katherine LaNasa (The Pitt)

Katherine LaNasa was honoured with her first Emmy win after more than 30 years in Hollywood.

LaNasa accepted the Emmy for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and thanked The Pitt’s EP John Wells.

“Oh my goodness, I am so proud and honoured to receive this award from the Academy. My whole career, I wanted to work for John Wells, and he elevates everything in his wake,” she said, adding with a joke, “John, I am so much better when you’re around. Mostly because I don’t want to get fired.”

The win for The Pitt actress is an inspiration and a living demonstration of what persistence earns you in Hollywood.

Seth Rogen (The Studio)

The Emmys weren’t only about actors making history. The Studio, which scored Outstanding Comedy Series and Seth Rogen’s Lead Actor trophy, set a new all-time record for a comedy, racking up 13 Emmy wins.

Before last night, The Bear held the 2023 record with 10 wins. With 23 nominations, The Studio not only surpassed it but also set a new milestone for most wins by a first-season comedy.

Ayo Edebiri (The Bear)

Though winners made history at the 77th TV Academy Awards, some of the nominees were record-breaking as well.

The standout was Ayo Edebiri, whose nods for Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Directing in The Bear made the 29-year-old the youngest Black woman to earn three acting Emmy nominations in her career, following her 2023 win.
