Ryan Gosling officially joins MCU as Marvel's new 'Ghost Rider'

Ryan Gosling's long rumoured Marvel debut is finally happening as the actor takes on the role of Ghost Rider.

The Barbie star was announced as the latest addition to the MCU during San Diego Comic Con on July 25, where Kevin Feige confirmed he will headline a solo movie.

"As you know, this is a character I’ve wanted to play for a long time," he said onstage to the the cheering crowd.

Meanwhile, the project will be directed by filmmaker Shawn Levy, who previously worked with the 45-year-old actor on the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter.

Speaking about his return to San Diego Comic-Con, Levy said, "I'm having the greatest flashback vibes here, because I was here two years ago when we showed Deadpool & Wolverine."

Moreover, he credited his collaboration with Gosling on Star Wars: Starfighter for bringing the Ghost Rider project together and hinted fans to expect the film in 2028.

Notably, the project will mark Gosling’s first comic book film, while Marvel has yet to announce an official release date.
