Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried’s film, The Housemaid, finally dropped its first trailer, sparking reactions from fans.

On September 16, Lionsgate released the trailer for Frieda McFadden’s highly anticipated adaptation.

Both Sydney and Amanda delivered a groundbreaking performance in the upcoming thriller/ horror film. The Euphoria actress portrays Millie Calloway, while the Mean Girls star plays Nina Winchester.

The video also features Sabrina Carpenter’s haunting version of Please Please Please in the background, adding a horror theme.

Netizens rushed to the comment section to express their sentiments about the feature. One fan wrote, “Sydney Sweeney owns every frame.” Another well-wisher penned, “Can’t wait to see Sydney shine.”

Directed by Paul Feig and written by Rebecca Sonnenshine, The Housemaid follows a maid with a troubled past, who arrives to work in a wealthy family’s house but soon discovers the couple is hiding a dangerous secret.

Notably, the movie was green-lit in April 2023, a year after its release, and in October 2024, the cast was revealed to the public. Alongside Sydney and Amanda, Brandon Sklenar also joined the cast as Andrew Winchester.

For the unversed, The Housemaid will be theatrically released on December 19. 2025.

The author Frieda McFadden released The Housemaid in 2022, followed by two more books in the series called The Housemaid’s Secret and The Housemaid is Watching.
