Tramell Tillman is finally being appreciated for managing the rebellious severed floor workers as Seth Milcheck in the sci-fi thriller, Severance.
The Sweethearts actor’s character repeatedly get snubbed of praise and respect for doing his job, but such is not the case in real life.
Tillman has just made history for being the first black man to win in the outstanding supporting actor in a drama series category.
In his acceptance speech, the 40-year-old begins " "'You remember what you want you remember. You make time for what you want to make time for. Do the work, show up, and most importantly, for the love of God, don't embarrass me in public.'"
Tillman then reveals that his first acting coach, and the woman that taught him all this was his mother, who was sitting proud and smiling in the audience as he honoured and dedicated his win to her.
“Thank you to the Academy. I am full, I am humbled, I am honored, and as my mama would say, Oh! Look at God!" the Severance star remarked at the end, raising his award.
Notably, Tillman was nominated alongside Zach Cherry and John Turturro who respectively play Lumon employees Dylan G and Irving in the series.
Tillman attempted to pursue a medical career, aiming to be an orthopedic surgeon due to his fascination with bone structures.
