Liam Hemsworth, who recently announced engagement to Gabriella Brooks, has taken up the role previously played by Henry Cavill in The Witcher.

On September 13, Netflix shared the first look trailer of the series with Liam in its lead alongside Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Joey Batey.

Although the trailer earned rave reviews after its launch, the role of Geralt of Rivia became a point of contention between the fans of the show.

Those who believed Henry was irreplaceable, expressed their disappointment that the show “will be sh*t without redemption.”

Another fan speculated about the future of franchise: “Incoming series cancellation after this drops.”

However, a netizen was of the opinion that Liam “looks better than Cavill as Geralt, but you’re not prepared for this conversation.”

Previously, a sneak peak of the replacement was unleashed in May 2024 of the show which is scheduled to release on the platform on October 30.

The teaser, which was dropped during the Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford live fight, features the 35-year-old’s character clashing with a wraith.

Why did Henry Cavill quit The Witcher?

The Enola Holmes star exited the upcoming series after facing creative differences with the creators as he wanted to stick with the books and games.
