Pete Davidson has made his return to Saturday Night Live after two years, for this week’s Weekend Update segment with Colin Jost.

The comedian took playful, self-deprecating jabs, which are characteristic of his personality, along with poking fun at the infamous Staten Island Ferry he purchased with the Pop Culture Jeopardy! host.

In the segment, the writer began by referencing an article by The New York Times which called his joint ferry with The King of Staten Island star a “money losing fiasco,” before his co-buyer was seen on screen in years.

“So yeah, in case you’re wondering why I had to do a show in Saudi Arabia, we’re losing millions on this ferry, I assume that’s what the article says; I can’t spend $5 on a paywall when I got a kid on the way,” Pete joked.

The comedic duo quipped that they had re-named the boat, and would be calling it “Titanic II” since the original name sounded too depressing.

Later, the soon-to-be father also remarked on the mayoral elections of New York City, won by Zohran Mamdani, telling Staten Islanders that opposed the new mayor that they could seek refuge in the Ferry.

“It will have everything that makes Staten Island great: the pizza…” Pete promised, adding, “We can’t call it the Titanic anymore since the people on this ship will actually love running into ICE.”

Notably, the Bupkis star and Colin kept things light, laughing often in between jokes with netizens also being impressed by the digs.
