Ellen DeGeneres is officially ready to make waves once more.
The 68-year-old comedian is diving back into the spotlight as the lovable fish Dory in a brand-new short film from Pixar’s iconic Finding Nemo universe.
According to reports, the upcoming short that is still under wraps and yet to be titled, will see Ellen reprise her most adored role since 2016’s billion-dollar smash Finding Dory.
Fans will remember her scene-stealing turn in Finding Nemo, where Dory quickly became the breakout star alongside Marlin and little Nemo.
The original 2003 hit, directed by Andrew Stanton, was a global sensation, raking in over $941 million and scooping the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
Its sequel went even further, smashing past the $1 billion mark worldwide.
This new project marks the former talk show host’s most significant on-screen return as Dory in nearly a decade, despite voicing the character in Disney park attractions over the years.
And it couldn’t come at a more intriguing time.
After an astonishing 19-season run, The Ellen DeGeneres Show came to an abrupt end in 2022 after a storm of workplace controversy.
Since then, Ellen has largely kept a low profile, only briefly resurfacing with her candid 2024 Netflix special For Your Approval.
Adding to the drama, Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi, are reportedly swapping Hollywood for the UK after the re-election of Donald Trump.
