The Bear left this year’s Emmy awards without a single win after making history at last year’s Emmys.
The TV series received 13 nominations at this year’s ceremony, which took place on Sunday, September 14, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
And netizens think it might be because the show keeps getting nominated in the wrong category.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), fans of the series were confused as to why The Bear was selected as a comedy instead of a drama.
One fan wrote, “Maybe if they wouldn’t nominate it as a comedy.” Another follower penned, “First decide if The Bear is a comedy or a drama.”
Notably, last year, the show won 11 Emmy Awards with 23 nominations for multiple categories. However, this year it seems Hollywood found its favourite show, The Studio, which went home with 13 golden statues.
Despite going home empty-handed, The Bear released its fourth season on June 24, 2025 ,and is reportedly filming its fifth season, which is currently slated for release in 2026.
Fans noticed the main cast of The Bear were absent during the ceremony despite having 13 nominations. Jeremy Allen White was attending his best friend’s wedding while actress Ayo Edebiri was in Japan shooting another project.
