Bad Bunny is heading to infinity and beyond, with a slice of pizza in hand.
The global music superstar has officially joined Toy Story 5 in what might be the franchise’s quirkiest casting yet, taking on the role of “Pizza With Sunglasses” in the upcoming Disney Pixar sequel.
The 32-year-old hitmaker, who has already conquered music, wrestling and Hollywood, will make a surprise voice cameo as one of the movie’s “forgotten toys”, a gang living in an abandoned backyard shed.
And judging by Pixar’s description, his character sounds every bit as cool as the singer himself.
The studio teased Pizza With Sunglasses is “effortlessly cool and mysterious”, instantly sending fans into meltdown online after the unusual character reveal.
It’s another huge Hollywood move for Bunny, whose acting CV already includes Bullet Train, Happy Gilmore 2 and Caught Stealing.
Pixar legend Andrew Stanton is directing the highly anticipated fifth movie and revealed the studio always focuses on finding voices that leave a lasting impression.
Meanwhile, producer Lindsay Collins admitted landing the right voice for new character Lilypad was especially important.
Actress Greta Lee has been cast as the frog-shaped tablet, with filmmakers keen to avoid turning the tech-inspired toy into a straightforward villain.
Co-director McKenna Harris said the film explores children’s complicated relationship with devices in a more realistic way.
The new adventure picks up after Toy Story 4, with Jessie now leading Bonnie’s toys while Buzz Lightyear remains second-in-command following Woody’s emotional departure.
Fr those unfamiliar, Toy Story 5 lands in cinemas on June 19.
