K-Pop Demon Hunters fans are buzzing with excitement after director Maggie Kang dropped a fresh update on the upcoming sequel to Netflix’s record-breaking hit.
The original film took the world by storm as it became Netflix’s most-watched movie ever on release and winning huge praise for its high-energy story, stunning animation and addictive soundtrack.
Songs like Soda Pop, Showdown and Golden didn’t just top charts, they went all the way to Grammy and Oscar glory, turning the fictional world of HUNTR/X into a global phenomenon.
Now, fans of Rumi, Mira and Zoey are celebrating after Kang promised that the next installment will be “fresh, surprising and original”.
The 44-year-old writer hinted that the creative team are pulling out all the stops to level things up even further.
Speaking about the sequel, Kang revealed she and co-director Chris Appelhans are staying deeply involved in every detail, determined to protect the quality of the franchise.
“We want full control,” she explained, adding that K-pop fans are incredibly sharp and will notice if anything feels off.
That attention to detail has only fuelled excitement online, with fans already speculating about new songs, bigger battles, and even more demon-fighting chaos behind the scenes of K-pop stardom.
However, there is one downside as fans may have a long wait ahead.
Animation takes time, and even the suggested 2029 release window is not guaranteed.
Still, that hasn’t stopped hype building across social media, where fans are calling it “the comeback of the decade”.
With the HUNTR/X girls balancing chart-topping fame and secret demon battles, fans are now eagerly waiting to see what chaos and music will comes next.
