Prince Harry will not be joining his family at a major royal event this week, just days after giving yet another explosive interview.
The Duke of Sussex has now reunited with Meghan Markle and their two children in California, following a whirlwind week that saw him spend four days in the UK and then travel to Ukraine for Invictus Games-related engagements.
Harry, 40, carried out multiple charity events during his UK visit and even met his father King Charles for the first time in 19 months.
The pair shared a private 55-minute tea at Clarence House, no details were disclosed.
But as senior royals prepare to attend the funeral of Katharine, Duchess of Kent, Harry will be absent.
The duchess, who died peacefully at 92 on September 4, will be honored with a requiem mass tomorrow at Westminster Cathedral, the first Catholic funeral for a royal in modern British history.
King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals are expected to attend.
Meanwhile, Meghan confirmed Harry is back home in the US.
The update comes just after Harry’s candid interview with The Guardian, where he defended his memoir Spare, insisting: “I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public… My conscience is clear.”
