Prince Harry may have reignited royal tensions after dropping a bold four-word statement during his secret trip to Ukraine: “My conscience is clear.”
The Duke of Sussex, 40, opened up in an interview with The Guardian, reflecting on his string of high-profile tell-alls, from his bombshell memoir Spare to explosive Netflix series Harry & Meghan.
While admitting his revelations “annoyed some people,” Harry defended them as necessary.
“The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there,” he explained. “One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected.”
He added that despite criticism, he stands by his decision to speak out, insisting: “I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible.”
The remark is sure to spark fresh tension with Prince William, who has reportedly been infuriated by Harry’s repeated public criticisms of the Royal Family.
The brothers remain estranged despite Harry briefly reuniting with King Charles in London last week for their first private meeting in 19 months.
After his UK stopover, Harry travelled to Kyiv to support wounded veterans through his Invictus Games Foundation.
