Kirsten Dunst gained the internet’s praise after her response to reprising her role in the reboot of the 2000 comedy Bring It On made headlines online.

In conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the 43-year-old actress was asked if she’d ever play Torrance Shipman, the flirty, perky cheerleader in the teen film.

Dunst replied, “I don’t need to put on a cheerleading outfit. I don’t even know what I would do [in a sequel]–be a coach or something? Let’s leave it.”

Notably, Bring It On went on to have five sequels; however, the Spider-Man star has only appeared in the original.

Netizens approved her choice of leaving something that’s already been done at its best and took to social media to express their sentiments. One fan wrote, “Give Kirsten Dunst the Nobel Peace Prize.”

Another well-wisher penned, “She only opens her mouth to say something biblical.” In 2021, the Oscar winner went on a break from acting, citing a lack of suitable roles and ageism in Hollywood.

She returned in 2024 for Civil War, in which she played Lee Smith, a seasoned war photojournalist. Dunst also has an upcoming movie, Roofman, alongside Channing Tatum.

For the unversed, directed by Derek Cianfrance, Roofman will be theatrically released on October 10, 2025.

Who is Kirsten Dunst married to?

Kirsten Dunst is married to Emmy-winning actor Jesse Plemons. The couple tied the knot in 2022 in Jamaica. They share two sons, Ennis and James.
