Cillian Murphy has finally addressed the viral chatter that he will be taking on the villainous role of Voldemort in the Harry Potter TV series.
The Oppenheimer actor opened up about the iconic Ralph Fiennes, who cemented his place as the character in the cult-classic movies.
In an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast on Thursday the Academy Award winner stated “I don’t know anything about that,” in reference to playing Voldemort.
The Irish actor added “Also, it’s just really hard to follow anything Ralph Fiennes does. The man is an absolute acting legend, so good luck to whoever’s gonna fill those shoes.”
Cillian also quipped that he was quite attached to his nose, which being odd (mainly just two slits) is a major characteristic for the Salazar Slytherin descendant.
The speculation was perpetuated by none other than the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix actor, Ralph who was asked about the Peaky Blinders actor taking on the role.
As per the Conclave star, the 49-year-old had his blessing, as he called the latter a fantastic actor.
Cillian has taken on the role of a headteacher attempting to manage students and personal struggles in the Netflix film, Steve.
