'Game of Thrones: Conquest' explores Children of the Forest in new july 29 event

Game of Thrones: Conquest is shining a spotlight on one of A Song of Ice and Fire's oldest civilisations with a brand-new Children of the Forest event launching July 29.

Running through July 30 the limited-time event gives players the chance to earn exclusive themed rewards inspired by the mysterious race that inhabited Westeros long before the arrival of the First Men.

Developed by Zynga, the mobile strategy game continues its tradition of exploring key moments and factions from George R.R. Martin's fantasy universe through special in-game events and collectable rewards.

While the full gameplay details have yet to be revealed the event marks a shift away from the franchise's recent focus on House Targaryen instead revisiting the ancient history of Westeros.

The Children of the Forest played a pivotal role in the world's mythology living in harmony with nature until conflict with the First Men eventually led to the creation of the White Walkers an event that shaped the future of Westeros and the legendary Long Night.
