American actress and comedian Ego Nwodim has joined the growing list of longtime Saturday Night Live cast members who are leaving.
Announcing the news, she wrote, “The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight.”
She continued, “But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL. I am immensely grateful to Lorne for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship. Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories, and that laughter, with me always.”
As mentioned, several other major cast members have announced their departures ahead of the show’s 51st season including Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker and Emil Wakim.
Outside of the sketch series, she has starred in other projects like the Netflix film Little Brother as well as the Peacock series, Poker Face.
In other news, Saturday Night Live has announced that Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska will be joining for the new season.
