Archie and Lilibet could bond with George, Charlotte and Louis

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet may hold the key to healing Prince Harry’s fractured ties with the Royal Family, a royal historian has suggested.

Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 44, quit as senior royals in 2020 and moved to the US, where their explosive claims deepened the rift with the Firm. 

Harry remains estranged from his brother, Prince William, and relations with King Charles are still strained.

But historian Kate Williams believes Harry’s children could one day bridge the divide. 

Writing in The Telegraph, she said: “There is a rich tradition of friendship and support between adult royal cousins … cousins have been a royal secret weapon.”

She pointed to Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, when the monarch leaned on her many cousins, including the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra, to support her work. 

Williams argued Archie and Lilibet could follow that same tradition in adulthood, forging their own bonds with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

While a childhood friendship between the cousins may be unlikely right now, Williams said: “Cousins understand the unique situation of being royal, and they can always be trusted in a world where friends sell stories.”
