Ayo Edebiri reacted to an awkward moment as the interviewer excluded her from a question that involved "MeToo" and "Black Lives Matter" movements.
The promotional interview with the cast of After the Hunt was released on Saturday, September 6, by ArtsLife on YouTube.
The trio, Ayo Edebiri, Julia Roberts, and Andrew Garfield, sat together, and while talking to them, the interviewer, Federica Polidoro, asked, "What to expect in Hollywood after the #MeToo movement and the Black Lives Matter are done?"
It surprised the Spider-Man actor, who looked baffled at his co-stars.
Continuing the conversation, the puzzled Julia asked, "Can you repeat that? With your sunglasses on, I can’t tell which of us you’re talking to.”
To add more awkwardness to the interview, Federica stated that the question is only for Andrew and Julia and continued, “Now that the movements are done, what do we have to expect in Hollywood? And what we lost with the politically correct era.”
While apologising to Julia for cutting her off, Ayo replied, “Yeah, I know that the question is not for me, and I don’t know if it’s purposeful, but I just am curious. I don’t think it’s done at all.”
The Bear actress concluded that the work done by the activists is not really finished and is still work in progress, gaining a nod from the Oscar-nominated artist.
The comedian's supporters took to social media to show their support for her.
One supporter wrote, “Look how hard she's working to make sure she can speak up for herself and others without seeming difficult.”
Another fan pointed out, “What an ignorant question to ask”
For the unfamiliar, After the Hunt is set to release on October 10.
