Rachel Zegler broke down in tears as she took the final bow with the cast for the last Evita performance at the London Palladium.

On September 6, the 24-year-old actress concluded her role of playing Eva in Jamie Lloyd's musical production and earned the longest standing ovation in the history of the venue.

The singer became emotional at the crowd's reaction, laughing and crying simultaneously, while the supporting cast members beside her comforted her with pats on the back.

Netizens took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise her acting in the West End play. One fan wrote, “Outstanding performance!” Another well-wisher penned, “A curtain call like that sealed her name in theatre history.”

According to a social media user, Zegler’s West End debut sold out every night, and her talent was recognised by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the composer of the original Evita production.

Notably, the reimagined musical Evita was directed by Jamie Lloyd, though most of the original songs written by Tim Rice in 1976 were used with a spin on Lloyd’s creation.

The show began on June 14, 2025, and concluded on September 6. It depicted the story of Eva Perón, the former first lady of Argentina and second wife of the President of Argentina, Juan Perón.

It followed the early life of Eva, her charity work, rise to power, controversies, and death.

As per speculations, Zegler will deliver a solo concert at the London Palladium in October, though it hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Has Rachel Zegler won a Golden Globe?

Yes, Rachel Zegler won a Golden Globe in 2022 for her leading role as Maria in the Steven Spielberg reimagining musical, West Side Story.
