Tom Holland recently gives rare insight into how he prepped for the role of Peter Parker in his original Spider-Man movie.

The English actor recalls going undercover at the New York City High School for his character preparation while speaking to GQ magazine for his upcoming epic movie.

Tom reveals that growing up in UK, they used to “romanticise” what the “American High School like”.

The Uncharted actor remembers “watching movies” from Hollywood and seeing how fun it’s to be a high school student.

To get into the skin of his character, Tom shares that he “secretly enrolled in the Bronx School of Science and went for like two weeks at this school”.

“I had like a fake accent. My chaperone pretended to be my dad and would like drop me off at school every day,” he tells the outlet.

The Impossible actor notes that these students “are like the smartest kids in America. They are like genuine kids whereas I am thick as shit when it comes to science”.

Tom discloses that he “took all the classes,” adding “I was great in gym and I really excelled at.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the actor expresses his love for acting as he believes, “no other line of work would you get to do something like that”.

Tom is accompanied by The Odyssey co-stars Matt Damon and Robert Pattinson in his latest interview.

When asked if no one caught him, Tom replies that he was “a new exchange student” who had a backstory.
