Howard Stern’s contract renewal with SiriusXM has been a topic of much speculation for the past few months, and now the CEO of the broadcasting company has put forth an all cards on the table type of response.
The President Scott Greenstein addressed the matter at a Bank of America conference on Wednesday, showering the industry alum with praise.
“So Howard, for all these years and right up until now, is as important a content, single piece of content as we’ve had from the sense of being a lightning rod to get awareness for the service and publicity and all of that. He’s the best interviewer out there, period, bar none” he stated, per the Hollywood Reporter.
Scott continued, “And we’ve always had a series, as all of you know, of renewals. With any talent at that level, you’re always going to have an extended period of negotiations.”
The 66-year-old went on to note that the company has been pretty good so far with retaining talent, and that he wishes things turn out well with a somewhat confident stance since they had done this before.
Meanwhile CEO Jennifer Witz noted that Howard had been with the station for over two decades and been a staple for the platform.
Stern calls himself the "King of All Media” due to his success as a radio host and in other avenues as well.
