Daniel Craig’s time as James Bond ended four years ago with No Time to Die, leaving fans desperate for answers about the next 007.
The upcoming film, unofficially called Bond 26, promises a fresh start.
Reportedly, a new actor will take on the iconic role, while Amazon takes the helm of the franchise for the first time.
While the big-screen casting remains a mystery, gamers can already step into Bond’s shoes.
Patrick Gibson, star of Dexter: Original Sin, will voice a young James Bond in IO Interactive and Amazon’s new video game, 007 First Light.
The game follows Bond as a resourceful, sometimes reckless recruit during his early MI6 training days.
Moreover, Gibson is joined by a strong voice cast, including Lennie James , Priyanga Burford, Alastair Mackenzie, Kiera Lester, and Noémie Nakai.
Director Denis Villeneuve, who will helm Bond 26, admitted he feels the huge responsibility of taking over such a beloved franchise.
“I grew up watching James Bond films with my father. He’s sacred territory,” Villeneuve said.
“I intend to honour the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come.”
With gamers already meeting a young Bond, the burning question remains, who will take on 007 for the next cinematic chapter?
Eight actors have officially played James Bond in the Eon Productions films. They are Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, and the upcoming new actor for Bond 26.
Additionally, Barry Nelson played Bond in a 1954 TV adaptation, bringing the total across all media to eight.
